Be part of an Executive Principals Peer Group. Our peer groups include up to 12 principals from across the Australia Pacific Region which meet online 9 times per year. Groups are intentionally designed with members who are not in competing markets to ensure you can have authentic conversations about what is really happening in your principals chair.

Access to your digital core group to celebrate your little wins along the way and an opportunity to ask for help between meetings – E.g. ‘I’ve got a problem and would like some advice.. does someone have 10 minutes to chat?”

Attend the Executive Principals Retreat with your peer group, to strengthen the relationships you've made online. Held in between June - August over 2 nights at a 5-star hotel, it includes thoughtful group activities, breakfast and dinners all designed to develop your relationships through a shared experience.

BENEFITS OF THE EXECUTIVE PRINCIPALS
PEER GROUPS

You can speak to your deputy, your chair, your partner or your friends, but nobody truly understands what it's like to walk in your shoes like another principal who's currently facing the same challenges you are in the day-to-day of leading a school community.

Private networks and mastermind groups have been in existence for many years. Napoleon Hill is credited with coining the term in his book ‘The Law of Success’ in 1925 and over the years many great leaders have attributed some of their success to a great mastermind network, including the likes of Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Theodore Roosevelt, Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller.  In your Core Group, you will...

Connect with a network of leading Principals

Surround yourself with talented peers

Engage in authentic conversations

Share your unique challenges

Develop authentic relationships

Develop your Principals mindset

Build a personal board of advisors

Be part of a group that cares about your success

Grow as a Leader

Find your Tribe of Principals!

To be an effective Principal you often need advice, a critical friend who lives outside the bubble of your School who won't judge the situation, someone who understands the complexities of Principalship and will give you unfiltered advice.

But these people aren't always easy to find.

Core groups combine you with 10-12 'like' principals, and offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your leadership, business and personal skills.

Groups meet 8 times per year for 60 minutes per session and are expertly facilitated to ensure there is maximum time for conversation and peer sharing. Every core group also includes one recently retired, highly experienced principal who provides a sprinkling of principalship wisdom.

Your core group is like having an objective board of directors, a success team, and a peer advisory group — all rolled into one.

Core group members act as catalysts for growth, fierce advocates and supportive colleagues who understand your role and the challenges that are required of you. They can ask the right questions to build your own insights, offer support, expand your thinking, offer a connection and perhaps most of all, help up to level up your founders game to help you continue to grow as a leader and person.

To have success in your core group, you'll need commitment, confidentiality, willingness to both give and receive advice and ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion.

WHAT CURRENT MEMBERS SAY

"Being involved in the Executive Principals Peer Group this year has been a fantastic experience. I have created wonderful friendships with like-minded women who are also juggling the challenges of headship. The stories, advice, experience, and wisdom shared (as well as the laughs) is invaluable. I know that I can reach out and share honestly with women who I truly admire."

"We are the stories we tell and share. The Executive Principals Peer Group, the process, and most importantly meeting the people, has been one of the most significant professional experiences of my life. There are few, if any, other opportunities in one’s career where you so thoroughly reflect, review, and in some instances reset your professional framework and network within the context of a shared profession and role. Thank you for the lessons and the advocacy, Luke Callier and my fellow Principals."

Anna Owen, Principal SCGS

"Being part of the Executive Principals Peer Group this year has been enlightening and energising. I have enjoyed being part of a group which has evolved over time and as we consolidated our purpose for connecting - engaging more deeply with each other, as we realise our common experiences."

"Being part of the Executive Principals Peer Group this year has been an incredible experience. I have felt very supported and encouraged by the other members of the group and have learned a lot through our online catch-ups and the retreat.  This group has been especially useful because of the varied nature of the group and our school contexts. It has been wonderful to connect with overseas and interstate colleagues which has allowed for a depth in relationship that may not have been possible if this group were more local to each other."
